Virgil Rainbolt, 80, Died Saturday At Ames Hospital

Gilbert, Feb. 23--Virgil Rainbolt, 80, long time resident of of the Gilbert community, 67 years of which were on the same farm, died Saturday at 7 p.m. at his home of heart complications of which he had been a sufferer for several years.

He was born July 30, 1867 in Indiana He was married Nov. 5, 1888 to Miss Ida Fisk, who with the son Frank Rainbolt of Cedar Rapids and the daughters, Mrs. Linnie Carmaney [should be Cormaney] of Aredale and Mrs. Genevieve Crawford of Gilbert survive him. One daughter, three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive him.

Funeral service will be held at the Adams Chapel in Ames on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. W. Murray Allan of the Ames Congregational church officiating. Burial will be in the Gilbert cemetery.

Mr. Rainbolt was a member of the Modern Woodman and I.O.O.F. lodges.
