Funeral Services for Mrs. Emma Scott

Maxwell, March 20--Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Scott, who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ross Olinger, Friday evening, were held in the Presbyterian church Sunday at 2:30 with Rev. B. H. Guthrie in charge. The songs, "The Old Rugged Cross," "Sometime We'll Understand" and "I Can Hear My Savior Calling" were sung by a double quartette composed by Mrs. Boyd Martin, Pauline Evans, Mrs. A. M. Christy, Mrs. L. B. Olinger, Clark John, Dale John, Earl Bowen and Harry Fackler with Mrs. T. C. Couch at the piano. Mrs. M. E. Smith and Mrs. Earl Bowen had charge of the flowers which were very beautiful. The pall bearers were: J. B. Scot, Lyle Scott, Forest Scott, Glen Scott, Horace Scott and Willis Scott. Burial was in the Maxwell cemetery.

Emma Fullington, daughter of A. H. and Fannie Fullington was born August 31, 1852 in Union county, Ohio and passed away after an illness of only four days, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ross Olinger on Friday evening, March 16 at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 16 days.

She moved Jasper county, at the age of 12 years and settled at the old homestead north of Colfax.

She was married to Wm. F. Scott, Dec. 25, 1873 and to this union was born three sons and four daughters, namely, Bert of Colfax, Walter of Bismarck, N. D., Ed of State Center, Mrs. Rose Olinger, Maxwell, Mrs. R. D. McDonald of Ferndale, Wash., Mrs. Ethel Frisbie of Bellingham, Wash., and Mrs. Frank Hite of Marengo.

They made their home in Colfax until 1905 when they moved to Maxwell which has since been the home of Mrs. Scott. After her husband passed away, Sept. 2, 1920, she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Rose Olinger.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Gearhart of Ira, being the only living sister. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
