Funeral Services Held Today for Late Lewis Cook

Funeral services were held this afternoon for Lewis C. Cook, 61, former Nevada man, who died at his home at Tracy, California, Wednesday, Sept. 2 from the effects of a heart attack.

The body arrived in Nevada, Monday over the Northwestern and was taken to the home of his daughter Mrs. Haynes McClelland, where prayer services was held at 2:00 p. m. today, followed by the funeral at the Church of Christ at 2:30, with Rev. C. V. Pence in charge.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

Lewis C. Cook was born Feb. 16, 1875 in Nevada, Iowa, He was one of seven children born to James and Sarah Cook. He spent his boyhood on his father's farm near Nevada and was married March 17, 1897 to Anna E. Robinson also of Nevada. To them were born four daughters all of whom are living.

Mr. and Mrs. Cook moved to Tracy, Calif., three years ago last May, where he had been employed by the Holly Sugar Corporation in the capacity of beet washer foreman. Mr. Cook had not been in the best of health for several months and had been under the care of a doctor only a week, but had worked up until two nights before he died. His death came as a terrible shock to his family and friends.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Anna Cook, four daughters Mrs. T. H. Hoff and Mrs. J. L. Blandy of Tracy, Calif., Mrs. H. F. McClellan and Mrs. J. L. Davis of Nevada; three brothers, John W. Cook and James Cook of Nevada and Fred Cook of Albert Lea, Minn., another brother, George, was buried in February of this year; two sisters Mrs. Mary Handsaker of Fernald and Mrs. Annie Fraley of Charbonneau, N. D. Also a host of other relatives and friends.
