Cleveland Funeral Wednesday Afternoon

Slater, March 12--Funeral services for William Cleveland were held at the Hauges Free Church, Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. The services were in charge of his pastor Rev. Alfred Knutson. Beautiful floral offerings were placed about the casket.

Miss Irma Sydnes of Des Moines sang.

The pall bearers were Cyrus Sydnes, Henry Thompson, N. T. Sydnes, Ole Frovick, Harley Nervig and Henry Gord. Burial was made in the Bethlehem cemetery.

Mr. Cleveland was born in Norway, Europe. He came to America with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Knute Cleveland, when 14 years old and lived near Sheldahl a number of years. While there his marriage to Miss Elizabeth Hadley took place. After their marriage they moved to Slayton, Minnesota where they made their home and where his wife died a number of years ago.

The past twelve years he made his home in Slater with his aged mother. He died March 7, 1932, age 75 years, 2 months and 26 days, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ersland. He is survived by his two sons, Edwin of St. Paul and Carl of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, his mother Mrs. Martha Cleveland and his sister, Mrs. Jacob Ersland, besides numerous other relatives and friends.
