Area Deaths

Guy Guge

Guy Guge, 83, of 1210 7th Street, Nevada, died Monday, Nov. 19, at Story County Hospital in Nevada.

Born Nov. 3, 1896, near Iowa Center to Nathan and Mattie Jones Guge, he attended a county school near Iowa Center, Iowa and St. James, Minn.

He married Hazel L. Zenor in Independence, Mo., Sept. 24, 1923.

Mr. Guge retired from the Atomic Energy Commission at Ames in 1961 and had lived in Nevada the past 51 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Hazel, in 1975.

Survivors include one son, Eldon Guge of Ames, one stepson, John W. Turner of Boulder City, Colo., one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Alice) Baldus of Nevada, two brothers, Levi Guge of Alton, Kan., and John Guge of Belle Plaine, Ia.; four sisters, Mildred Louks of Nevada, Mrs. Mona Fuller of Sara Hope, Ala., Francis Anderson of Boone and Phylis Bork of Branson, Mo.; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with Rev. Robert Baker of the Harlan Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Iowa Center.

The boyd will lie in state at Ryan Funeral Home.
