DEATHS

Funeral services for Mrs. Syvert Westvold were held on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Palestine Lutheran Church with Pastor Ernest T. Thompson in charge. He based his meditation on John 14:1-6.

Mrs Selmer Westvold sang, "I Know a Sleep in Jesus Name" and was accompanied by Mrs. Noel Larson. The service was closed by the congregation singing, "My God, How Wonderful Thou Art."

Pallbearers were: James Westvold, Steven Westvold, Warren Westvold, Clark Westvold, David Sebek and James Breining with burial in the Palestine Cemetery.

Mrs. Helga Westvold was born December 9, 1889 in Story County. Her parents were Mons and Elizabeth Ostrem. In 1913 she married Syvert Westvold in the home of he parents in Cambridge. They lived the early part of their married life in Kenyon, Minn. and later farmed in this area until they retired and moved to Huxley.

Mrs. Westvold was a member of the Palestine Lutheran Church of Huxley.

She died at the Iowa Luthern Hospital in Des Moines on Oct. 4, 1967 at the age of 76 years. She is survived by her husband Syvert; three sons, Selmer of Huxley, Joseph of Klamath Falls, Ore., Marvin of Des Moines; four daughters, Mrs. Anna Atha and Mrs. Mildred Ross of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Helen Sebek of Ft. Dodge and Mrs. Agnes Eeg of Stremwood, Ill.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Newgvard of Altoona and Mrs. Caroline Hite of Salem, Ore.; twenty-eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers, and her parents.
