DEATHS

Helen Twedt Eller, only daughter of Oscar and Grace Thompson Twedt, was born in Roland on June 2, 1920. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith in the Salem Lutheran Church and attended school at Milford, graduating in 1938. She remained in this vicinity for several years being employed in Ames and Nevada.

Helen was united in marriage to John Eller on Feb. 23, 1943 at Medford, Ore. where they resided while he was in the Army. Moving to Iowa, the lived in Ames before moving to Roland where they have made their home for the past 19 years.

Although in ill health, Helen has been of good courage and strong faith. She succumbed Sunday, September 17, 1967 at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She is survived by her husband, Ed, her daughter, Sandra of Minneapolis, Minn.; two son, Jay and Steven who are at home.

Mrs. Eller is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar G. Twedt, two brothers, Orlene Twedt of Farmington, Minn., and Amil Twedt, Nevada and three aunts.

Funeral services were held in the Salem Lutheran Church at Roland on Wednesday, Sept. 20 with Pastor Everett Nelson officiating. Mark Thorngren sang, "Just a Closer Walk With Thee: and "Take My Hand."

Pastor Olaf Holen closed the service with a comforting message. Interment was in the Roland Cemetery with Alan Twedt, Larry Twedt, Fred Eller, Owen Twedt, Bruse Eller and Dean Twedt, all nephews of the deceased served as pallbearers.
