Funeral Services at Iowa Center Church for Mrs. Kate See

Special to the Journal.
Huxley, Mar. 15--Funeral services for Mrs. Kate Harper-See were held in the church at Iowa Center at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, July 12, with Rev. H. G. Darling in charge. The singing was by a quartette composed of Mrs. Van Busenberg, Mrs. Lowell Sullivan, Geo. Dunlap and Jimmie Dunahoo with Miss Mabel Higley at the organ. The floral tributes were very beautiful. Burial was made in the Woodlawn Cemetery [should be Woodland Cemetery] at Iowa Center.

Rev. Daring read the following life sketch during the service.

"Kate Elvina Harper, daughter of Isaiah and Amanda Harper, was born Sept. 25, 1880, at Knoxville, Iowa, and passed away July 10 1942, at Nevada, Iowa, at the age of 61 years, 9 months and 15 days.

"She spent most of her life in the Maxwell community, coming to this neighborhood when but a small child.

She was unite din marriage to Ira See Jan. 19, 1897. Two sons were born into their home.

She leaves to mourn her passing one son, Harry F. Lee [should be See] of Huntington Park, California, one sister, Mrs. Emma Owens of Muscatine, Iowa, and one brother, Jim Harper, of Montezuma, Iowa.

Her husband, son Arthur Howard, mother, father, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

A host of relatives and friends deeply mourn her passing.
