Dial Funeral Was Held on Monday

Funeral services for George W. Dial, 68, who died at his home Tenth and M avenue Saturday morning, were held at the Church of Christ, Nevada, Monday afternoon at 2:30, after which interment was in the Nevada cemetery.

The service was in charge of his pastor, Rev. H. L. Kinser, pastor of that church while the singing was by a mixed quartette.

The obituary, as read by the pastor, at the service, follows:

"George W. Dial was born in Shelby county, Illinois, April 26, 1863. In this county he grew to manhood and on October 1, 1885 he was united in marriage to Miss Martha Ann Hickman, also of Shelby county.

"To this union was born nine children, five of which have precede the parents in death.

"In 1903, Mr. and Mrs. Dial and family moved on a farm near Boone, making their home there till 1908 at which time they moved just west of Nevada where they lived till 1929 when they came to town. They located on Tenth street where Mr. Dial passed away February 28, 1931 at the age of 67 years, 10 months and two days.

"He leaves to mourn his death his good wife, four children, Clarence Bradford Dial, Mrs. Elsie Maudlin, Mrs. Hester Stevenson and George Franklin Dial all of Nevada. Also one brother and four sisters, John Dial of Nevada, Mrs. Mary Wheat, Mrs. Jane Leffler, Mrs. Ida Rich and Mrs. Margaret Hickman of Clarksburg, Ill. Six grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends.

"When a young man, Mr. Dial united with the Baptist church. After moving to the Nevada community he placed his membership with the Nevada Church of Christ where he was an active worker till his departure.
