SUDDEN DEATH OF MRS. ABEL TWEDT

Mrs. Abel Twedt Passed Away Tueaday Morning After a Short Illness, Funeral Held Tuesday.

Nellie Jacobs [transcriber note: most sources show her maiden name as Jacobson] was born on the 11th day of May 1867 on the old Jacobs place east of Roland. She was married to Abel Twedt Oct 2, 1866. They made their home on the farm a mile east of town for several years, after which they moved to their present home north east of town. She died July 7, 1913.

The tolling of the church bell last Tuesday morning spread the sad tidings that death had again taken a useful member from our midst and the community was shocked to learn that Mrs. Abel Twedt, who after a very brief illness had been called to meet her Master. The book of life has again been opened and another name has been written therein by the hand of love,

She ran the journey of her life in forty six years. It is a path marked with deeds of kindness and good cheer. She was instrumental in scattering flowers not thorns, sunshine not shadow wherever she went. Truth was the inspiration of her life and by kindness she exemplified her great worth.

Live will never be quite the same to those who knew her, while those who were nearest to her will long for her with unutterable longings, long for a mothers counsel and advice, and a wife's gentle and loving sympathy.

Her loss is mourned by a bereaved husband and children whose names are: Mrs. Louisa Holm, Hans J., Carl H., (Sadie who died Aug. 24, 1911), Clarence, Arthur, Alice and (Lester and one daughter who died in infancy), also four sisters and five brothers.

The funeral services were conducted from Bergen's church at 2 o'clock last Wednesday afternoon. Rev. G. Smedal officiated. A large gathering assembled to pay their last respects to the deceased.

Interment took place in the Roland Cemetery.
