THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 12, 1903, page 1, column 4. "Died. - Mary Jeanette Ellis, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ellis, died at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Bacon, of this city, Tuesday evening, aged ten months and eleven days. Mary was a sweet dispositioned child and her death came as a severe shock to the young parents, who have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their sad affliction. The funeral will be held at the M. D. church Thursday at 11:00 o'clock and will be in charge of Rev. O. F. Shaw. Interment will be in the Maxwell cemetery. We cannot understand why these little flowers should be brought into the world and then taken away so soon, but He who hold the destiny of nations in His hands knows best, and we must bow in submission to His will. "A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our home Which never can be filled.""
