Mrs. Susan Halterman Died Early Toay at Home In Collins

Collins, Sept. 4 -- Mrs. Susan Halterman, 86, died at her home in Collins at 7:30 a.m. today, after having been brought here on Tuesday from Iowa sanitarium, Neavda where she had been since July 11, following a fall in which she had fractured a hip.

Mrs. Halterman who had lived in the Collins neighborhood during her entire married life, was recognized as one the respected pioneer women of the community.

Born in Ohio, July 20, 1854, she came as a small child with her parents to Palmyra, in Warren county, and there she grew to young womanhood and was married to John Halterman. Two daughter died in infancy and she is survived by sons Henry of Nevada, Dennis and Melvin of Collins and John of near Roland. There is also a stepdaughter Mrs. Belle Gillie of Collins.

Mr. Halterman farmed for many years but retired probably about 25 years ago and passed away in 1923.
