Funeral Services Sunday Afternoon for Mrs. Blanche Cook

Maxwell, Feb. 5 -- Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche Cook, wife of James Cook, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Church of Christ, with her pastor, Rev. H. G. Darling, in charge.

The many floral tributes were arranged and carried by Mrs. James Holl and Mrs. F. F. Foster, Mrs. J. B. Scott and Mrs. H. G. Darling sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "No Night There" and "I Know In Whom I Have Believed."

Pallbearers were Barton Rittgers, George Cook, Jay Harmon, Vern Harmon, Etric Boster and E. R. Bell.

Rev. Darling read the following obituary:

"Mrs. Blanche McClure-Cook was born in Story county, iowa, April 14, 1890, and was called to meet "Him in whom she believed on Feb. 1, 1940.

"Her live span thus far had been spent in the Maxwell community with the exception of a six-year residence at Woodward and three years at Colo.

"She was united in marriage to James Cook Jan. 23, 1907, at Maxwell. They had just recently celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary. Preceding her in death were two sisters, one in infancy and the other three years ago.

"She leaves to mourn her departure, two brothers, Elba McClure of Ames and Forest McClure, now living in Florida; two daughters, Maxine Viers and Ruth Nagle, three grandchildren, and her father and mother. Mr. and Mrs. Frank McClure and many friends."
