THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, October 10, 1918, page 1. "MRS. WM. DENNISTON - Nellie Oretta Hall, third child of James and Hannah Hall, was born near Maxwell, Iowa, October 11, 1866. Departed this life at her home near Collins, September 28, 1918, age fifty-one years, eleven months and sixteen days. She was united in marriage to Wm. Denniston March 13, 1888. To this union were born four children, Mrs. Grace Hay, of Collins; Mrs. Mabel Edward, of Maxwell; Mrs. Alto Dodd of Mingo, and Estellene, all of whom are left with the father to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. She also leaves an aged mother, two brothers and two sisters. Frank L. Hall, of Redfield, So. Dak.; Mrs. Alice Wood, of Maxwell; Mrs. Mary M. Carpenter, of Palouse, Wash. and Leroy W. Hall, of Elwell; and two grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. In early life she was converted and united with the Presbyterian church. Following her marriage she changed her membership to the Church of Christ, and she has lived a faithful Christian life to the end. She was a devoted wife and mother, faithful in both Sunday school and church; she was always willing and ready to do whatever was to be done and a friend to every one. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Loren Howe, of Storm Lake, assisted by Rev. W. E. Purdy, of Maxwell, and Rev. C. R. Moore, of Collins. Pall bearers were; F. W. McClintock, Chas. Ray, Geo. Rupp, Cecil Scott, Ned Pearson and J. D. Miller. Interment in Maxwell cemetery. CARD OF THANKS - We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to the neighbors and friends during the sickness and death of our beloved wife and mother. Wm. Denniston and children."
