Last Rites for Ernest Henry Toot at Wells, Minn.

Funeral services for Ernest Henry Toot, former Story County resident, who passed away on Feb. 15, were held at 2 p. m. at the Methodist church in Wells, Minn. Burial was in the Rose Hill cemetery at that place.

Those from Iowa attending the last rites were Mrs. Henry Stowe of Cambridge, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Toot of Nevada, Mr. ad Mrs. F. L. Toot of Roland, B. B. Toot, Boone and Mrs. Mattie Marshall, Iowa Falls.

The following obituary was read at the furneral service.

"Ernest Henry Toot was born September 6, 1878 to David and Hannah Toot at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He was one of thirteen children.

He was baptized and joined the Lutheran church when a lad.

When he was 20 years old he came west to Illinois and worked as a farm hand for 33 months then moved to Story County, Iowa.

On September 12, 1905 he was united in marriage to Pearl E. Toot at Nevada, Iowa. they lived there until March 1912 when they moved to Alden, Minnesota. In March 1929 they moved to a farm they had purchased in Walnut Lake Township and resided there until he time of his death, Feb. 15, 1945.

Besides his wife he leaves three children, Mrs. Donald Jenkins, (Ethel Marie) Delavan, Marion Arthur, Walters, and Pfc Wayne Earl of Bryan, Texas; three grandchildren, Roger, Jay Dean and Bonnie Toot, also four brothers and two sisters and a host of friends."
