Last Rites Held Thursday Afternoon For Ivan Matison

Funeral services for Ivan Guy Matison who had passed away in Chicago on Wednesday was held from the Morfoot Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p. m. with the Reverend O. E. Cooley officiating.

Organ music was played by Harry Christiansen.

Committal was in the Nevada cemetery.

The following obituary was read at the funeral service:

"Ivan Guy Matison was born on a farm four miles south of Nevada, Jan. 31, 1908. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Matison. He passed away in Chicago, Ill., May 27, 1945, age 37 years, 3 months and 27 days.

He was preceded in death by his father, who passed away in 1916 and an older brother Guy, who died at the age of 12. He leaves his mother, Mrs. C. L. Brown of Marshalltown, Ia., two sisters, Mrs. A. E. White of Popejoy, Iowa and Lola Ragsdale of Des Moines, four brothers, Harry of Whittier, Calif.; Merle of Nevada, Iowa; Clyde of Long Island, N. Y.; and Glen of Jacksonville, Florida. The latter two are in the U. S. Navy."
