Funeral Services for Mrs. Celia L. Smith Monday Afternoon

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Celia L. Smith, who passed away at her home in McCallsburg on May 19, were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nevada.

The last rites were in charge of Elder L. A. Miller assisted by Elder C. A. Larson.

A mixed quartette, Elder L. A. Edwards, Elder C. L. Smith, Mrs. Otho Kirk and Mrs. Elmer Aderson sang "Jesus Is Mine" and "Near to the Heard of God." Mrs. Usey was at the piano.

The floral pieces were arranged by Mrs. wyley and Mrs. Albert Olson.

Pall bearers were Elmer Anderson, Andy Hlad, F. H. Arnett, Dan Hornbacher, Elston Adams and H. G. Biggers. Burial was in the McCallsburg cemetery.

The following obituary was read at the funeral services:

Mrs. Celia L. Smith, youngest daughter of Henry and Rosannah Klock, was born November 10, 1877 at Elgin, Iowa. She fell asleep at her home in McCallsburg May 19, 1945, having lived 67 years, 6 months and 9 days.

Most of the first 18 years of her life were in Fayette, Iowa. After the death of her parents in 1895-'96 she made her home in Zearing with a sister until her marriage to George W. Smith in 1925. Their home was in McCallsburg the remainder of her days.

She was reared in the Seventh Day Adventist faith. Was baptized at Madison, Wisconsin in 1900. She remained true to her faith to the end. She was a faithful member of the Nevada Seventh-day Adventist church, was always interested in the welfare of others and active in the missionary endeavors.

She leaves to mourn her husband, George W. Smith, two sisters, Mrs Arlie Bray, Fayette, Iowa; Mrs. Nellie Smith, Marion, North Dakota and number of nephews and nieces. A brother and sister preceded her in death.

She was laid to rest in the McCallsburg cemetery.
