Final Rites for Mrs. P. E. Onstad Largely Attended

Slater, Aug. 22 -- Funeral services for Mrs. P. E. Onstad were held in Slater Friday afternoon at the Riis Funeral Home at 1:30 o'clock and 2 o'clock at the Bethleham Lutheran church.

The services were in charge of Rev. Holen of Roland. He was assisted by Rev. Loekensgaard of Des Moines and Rev. S. Carlson of Story City.

Th beautiful floral offerings were arranged by Miss Edna Houge and Mrs. Carroll Tweedt.

The audience sang "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" and "How Firm a Foundation." The combined choirs of the Bethlehem and Kelley Bethany churches sang two hymns "Asleep in Jesus" and "In Heaven Above."

The pall bearers were Jeffrey Richardson, Louis Erickson and Hans Larson of Kelley and Thomas Tweet, N. O. Ihle and Albert Lehman of Slater.

A number gifts of money to missions, Sunday School and memorial fund were given in memory of Mrs. Onstad.

Last Rites Monday

After the service the body was taken to Sharon, North Dakota where final rites were held on Monday afternoon at the Lutheran church.

Mrs. Onstad was born Nov. 29, 1904 at Sharon, N. D. and died at her home in Slater Aug. 14, 1946 at the age of 41 years, 9 months and 15 days. She is survived by her husband and two children, Peter and Jean, and her parents, three sisters and four brothers. Two of her sisters, Miss Esther Olson of Los Angeles and Miss Ruth Olson of Sharon, N. D. spent the summer here and assisted in her care.

Mrs. Onstad was a devoted wife and mother. She was a graduate of the University of North Dakota.

She had a large circle of friends here who will miss her.

Among the ministers in attendance were the following Rev. E. R. Rorem and Rev. S. Carlson of Story City, Rev. Morck of Radcliffe, Rev. Lokensgaard of Des Moines, Rev. O. Holen of Roland, Rev. O. C. Hellickson of Huxley.
