THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, April 14, 1949, page 1, column 4. "FORMER RESIDENT PASSES AWAY. - Relatives at Maxwell received word that George W. Brown, age 75 yr. Had passed away April 7 at the Odd Fellow home at Liberty, Missouri where he had made his home the past four years. He was the oldest son of Andy and Francis Brown, Former residents of the Loring community. He lived at Kelley several years. When health failed he entered the Odd Fellow Home, in Missouri. The funeral was held at Liberty, April 9, and interment in the Odd Fellow cemetery. He is survived by two children, Lena and Andrew Brown of Kansas City and one grandson. One brother John Brown of Morehead, Kansas, two sisters, Mrs. Warren Fuller of Marshalltown, Iowa and Mrs. Lovina Putnam of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His wife and oldest daughter preceeded him in death."
