THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, November 9, 1905, page 1, column 2. "Quite a number from Farrar attended the funeral services of Miss Ida Bratke Sunday, which was held at the Mr. Zion church.."

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, November 9, 1905, page _. "Obituary. - Ida Lizetta Bratke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Bratke, was born March 22, 1887 in the home where she died November 2, 1905, aged eighteen years, seven months and eleven days. She was preceeded** by two brothers who died in infancy and is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Bratke, one grandmother, Mrs. Anna Dorothea Shultz, four sisters and two brothers, they are William, of Morton, Minn., Mrs. Arlene Scott, of Valley Junction, Emma, wife of Clinton Conner, Herman, Anna, and Frances Bratke, of this place. The deceased was converted to Christ in the Mt. Zion Evangelical church and has lived a faithful Christian life ever since. She was a young lady of noble character and was greatly loved by all with whom she came in contact. Her life was sweet and noble and as a result she was a great favorite among her associates, and she will be greatly missed by her friends as well as by the immediate family. The funeral was conducted by Rev. L. N. Day in the Mt. Zion church and owing to the fact that the grandmother, Mrs. Shultz and sister Mrs. Clinton Conner, were unable to attend the funeral, on account of illness a short service was held at the home before going to the church. The floral contribution were very beautiful and were expressive of the admiration of the donors for their deceased friend. The pall bearers were six young ladies, friends of Ida, all of who were dressed in white and wore white veils. They were, Mary Niffenegger, Ida Howell, Nora Mishler, Ella Yoder, Lola Garlock and Ollie Link. The bereaved family will have the tenderest** sympathy of a multitude of friends." "Card of Thanks. Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Bratke and family desire to express their heartfelt thanks for the sympathy and kindness extended to them by friends in their sad bereavement, caused by the death of their daughter and sister, Ida." **Editorial note - spelling used is from the original newspaper article.
