Obituary Written on Mrs. Walter Skinner
Iowa Center, Oct. 11 -- Mrs. Walter Skinner, who died north of Maxwell Sunday, Oct. 5, at the age of 76 years, eight months and three says, was born Zeresh E. Harris, on Feb. 2, 1871.
She was united in marriage with Walter L. Skinner on Aug. 30, 1893 at Lorimer, Iowa. Her husband preceded her in death almost 10 years ago. To this union four daughters were born, one of whom died in infancy.
In her girlhood she joined the Evangelical church and later transferred her membership to the Church of Christ in Collins.
She leaves to mourn her loss her three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Down, Huxley; Mrs. Zoa Burns, Champaign, Ill. and Zella who lived at her home with her mother; two grandchildren, Harold and Lois Ann Downs; one brother, Joe Harris, Winterset; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
She was kind and helpful companion, a loving mother and a good neighbor.
The pallbearers at the funeral were Howard Skinner, Clarence Godby, Howard Smith, Milton Mohr, Bob Hill and Wayne Howell. The Rev. Henry Esch officiated at the services. Mrs. Clarence Godby and Mrs. Milton Mohr were in charge of the floral offering.
