Funeral Services, Carl E. Davidson Held On Tuesday

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada for Carl E. Davidson, 43, son of Mrs. Hans Davidson, 1613 Fourth street, who passed away Saturday, July 17, after a five weeks illness. Rev. E. P. Windman of Memorial Lutheran church officiated. A large number were in attendance.

Mrs. Norman C. Dobson was at the organ playing appropriate hymns at the opening and close of the funeral service. Many flowers surrounded the bier.

The pall bearers were Chester Bills, Harold Corbin, Henry Erickson, Don Pepper, Lestell Rutter, Lawrence Tesdall, all employees of the Chicago Northwestern Railway. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

Rev. Windman paid a fine tribute to the young man who had been industrious and upright, and devoted to his mother and to his responsibilities. During the service, in which Rev. Windman brought spiritual comfort to the mother and others bereaved, he read the following brief life story:

Obituary

Carl Engvald Davidson, second son of Mrs. Hans Davidson, 1613 Fourth St., was born April 13, 1905, in Nevada, and passed away July 17, 1948 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames at th age of 43 years, 3 months and 4 days. He was baptized in the Lutheran church at Nevada.

Carl attended the Nevada schools. His entire life had been spent with his mother. He was employed by the C.&N.W. Railway company. June 9th, he was stricken with kidney poisoning which resulted in his death.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his mother, Mrs. Davidson, one brother, Albert of Calamus; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Bappe of Ames; and four nieces and one nephew.

Preceding him in death were his father who passed away in 1943; a sister who passed away in 1930; a brother Herman who died in infancy in 1910; and a brother Olaf, who passed away four months ago, on March 18, 1948.
