Final Rites in Colo For Wm. Harrington

Funeral services were held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 13, in the Colo Methodist church for William J. Harrington, 61, who died at his home at 1039 Fourth S. W. St. in Mason City on Oct. 10, following an illness.

The services were conducted by Rev. O. E. Prichett, rector of St. John's Episcopal church in Mason City, Mrs. Nellie Lounsberry and Mrs. Anna Lounsberry sang two duets using "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. Mark E. Wilson presided at the piano.

Casket bearers were Charles Reed, John Jones, Orville Weir, Roy Ginter, Lloyd Lounsberry and Horace Lounsberry. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

The many beautiful floral arrangements were cared for by Mrs. Orville Weir and Mrs. Eva Silliman.

Obituary

William Jacob Harrington was born at Collins, Iowa, on Aug. 24, 1887, the son of Chris and Dora Harrington. He grew to manhood there and attended school and church at Willow Creek.

The family moved to Nevada, Iowa, where he was united in marriage to Elva Chapman on July 24, 1907. To this union were born four children, Paul C., Margaret P. Olson and Kenneth Wayne, all of Mason City, and William Edward, who died Jan. 26, 1933.

He moved to Mason City from Colo in September, 1928, and had been employed at the Jacob E. Decker and Sons plant for a number of years. For the past few years he was an elevator operator at the First National Bank building.

He ws a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge and the Episcopal church of Mason City.

Survivors

Surviving are his wife, daughter, two sons, nine grandchildren, one brother, Jesse I. of Eldora and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son William, his parents and three brothers, Charlie, Claude and George.

Funeral services were also held at the Major Memorial chapel at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning in Mason City with Rev. Prichett officiating. I.O.O.F rites were also conducted at the chapel with A. V. Hertig, Noble Grand, officiating.
