Funeral Service For Amos H. Hanson Held Monday Afternoon

Funeral services for Amos H. Hanson, 79, prominent Collins resident, whose death occurred Friday afternoon, were held Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Methodist church in Collins with the Rev. A. V. Weigel officiating.

Mrs. C. R. Stone was at the piano playing three appropriate selections, one of which was "Crossing the Bar."

Beautiful floral offerings were testimony to the high regard in which the deceased was held in the community in which he had lived for many years.

The pall bearers were the nephews, Hollis and Jim Hanson of Mingo, Lester Hanson of Nevada and Charles Hanson of Des Moines and the nephews-by-marriage, Carl E. Stone and C. F. Hansen of Nevada.

Burial was in the family lot in the Collins Evergreen cemetery.

A short prayer service at the Hanson home preceded the service at the church.

The death of Mr. Hanson Friday evening shocked the community. Mr. Hanson, Collins real estate agent, and widely respected Story county resident, was killed instantly when struck by a car as he was walking across the highway toward his home about 5:20 Friday afternoon.
