Hold Final Rites For George Allen

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning Oct. 20, at the Cooper Funeral home in Maxwell for George W. Allen of Cambridge. Burial was in the Iowa Center cemetery.

George W. Allen, eldest son of Seth and Julia Allen, was born December 27, 1871, near Maxwell and died October 18, at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, having reached the age of 76 years, nine months and 18 days. He was never married and spent most of his life in the Cambridge area.

Surviving are two sister, Mrs. Edna Rogers of Adel and Mrs. Chloe Smith of DeSoto, Iowa, one brother, Frank Allen of Buffalo, Mo., one half-brother, Elmer Jones of Melvern, Kans.; one uncle, Amos Allen of Elwell, and many nieces and nephews and friends.

His father and mother, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
