Obituary
Albert Engvald Henderson was born January 4 1875, to Henry and Melinda Henderson on the homestead one mile east and one mile south of Randall, Iowa in Hamilton county. He ws baptized and confirmed in Elim Lutheran church in Randall. When 19 years of age his parents passed away and he took it upon himself to raise his younger brothers and sisters to manhood and womanhood. While raking the responsibility of raising the family he was united in marriage to Julia Henryson. Five children were born to this union, three of whom survive, Marietta, Joseph and Leslie.
Mr. Henderson was a kind and considerate father and husband. Only on one occasion was he away from home over two weeks. His interest was his home and family. Two years ago he became ill, his first illness of any consequence through all his years of hard work and good health. At this time he was advised to retire from active farm work, which he did. He retired to live in the home he had been born, raised and live most of his life. Even when illness required his retirement from farming, there was not a day during which he was entirely bedfast. On the morning of his death he went out in the morning to make preparations to go to town and then to brother-in-law to spend the day in assisting in some farm repair work. While making this preparation he was struck with a heart attack and passed away suddenly on the morning of October 29, 1948, at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 25 days.
He was an active member of the St. Petri Lutheran congregation throughout his life.

Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. He will be remembered by a host of friends and relatives.
