Hold Final Services For Harry B. Carver

Funeral services were held 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon for Harry B. Carver, who died at his home in Collins on Saturday evening in the Collins Evangelical United Brethren church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Paul H. Varce.

Vocal music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Marion Burk, Mrs. Meyer Brekke, Milton Hale and Bradford Stevens, with Mrs. C. R. Stone as pianist. Songs were "In the Garden," "The Old Rugged Cross," "We'll Say Good Night Here, But Good Morning Up There."

The flowers were arranged and cared for by Mrs. Donald Titus and Mrs. Harold Hale.

Pallbearers were Wes McWherter, Leo Cooper, Harold Haley, Curt Marlow, Ralph Vasey and James Sager. Interment was in Collins Evergreen cemetery.

Obituary

Harry B. Carver, son of Charles and Ann Carver was born in Collins, July 25, 1898 and died at his home Saturday evening, November 13 at the age of 50 years, 3 months and 28 days, having lived in Collins all his life.

Being of an industrious disposition, he early in his youth associated himself with his father in the operation of threshing machine and sheller for the Carver-Hale combination and following the death of his father in 1933, succeeded to the partnership.

In serving a wide patronage he took great price in his reputation for good work, integrity and honesty.

Harry had many friend among all ages. He especially like children and was adored by them.

Preceding him in death were his father and mother his brother, Ray, and sister, Mrs. Ethel Shearer.

Survivors

He is survived by one brother, William of Nevada; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Torry and Mrs. Bessie Dodd of Collins, and Mrs. Charlotte Clement of Minneapolis, an aunt Mrs. O. B. Paterson, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Relatives from a distance attending the services were Floyd Carver, New Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Halbfass, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Clement, Ted and Shirley, Minneapolis; S. Sgt. and Mrs. Keith Shearer and children, Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Carver, Nevada; the Misses Margie Shearer and Marilyn Torry, Des Moines.
