McHose rites will be held Thursday

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 at the Ryan Funeral Home for Ray Milton McHose, 83, who was killed Sunday in an auto crash in Vancouver, Wash.

The Rev. E. P. Windman will officiate. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Mr. McHose was born November 11, 1888 in Geneseo, Ill., the son of Sarah Marie Sharon and Samuel Milton McHose.

He graduated from the Nevada High School and attended Ellsworth College, Iowa State University and the University of Ohio.

He was married Sept. 11, 1913 to Amy Ann Fantz, who preceded him in death in 1954.

Survivors include his children: Sam McHose and Don W. McHose of Nevada and Mrs. Dan Maloney of Clear Lake; five grandsons, two granddaughters, four great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Winifred Weeks of Vancouver.

One of Nevada's pioneer business men, he headed Nevada Brick and Tile for years, and chairman of the Nevada National Bank board, and had agricultural business interests.

Mr. McHose took an active part in the Presbyterian Church, had served as president of the Nevada Rotary Club, and was a member of the Golden Agers.

His hobbies were reading, his grandchildren, nature and geology.

The body will lie in state at the Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Thursday.
