O. E. Wasser, 94 Laid to Rest At Deep River, Ia.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at the Adams Funeral chapel in Ames, for O. E. Wasser, 84, father of Mrs. D. H. Soper of Nevada with Reverend O. E. Cooley of the Nevada Methodist church officiating.

"Lead Kindly Light" was sung by the grandson, Merwin Soper.

The body was laid to rest at Deep River, Iowa, where Mr. Wasser had lived as a young man. the committal service at Deep River was in charge of the Reverend Wm. C. Wasser of Denver, Colo., brother of the deceased.

The following brief life story was read by Rev. Cooley at the funeral service.

Obituary

O. E. Wasser was born August 6, 1854, at Mt. Carmel, Penn. He was married on Feb. 28, 1883 at Deep River, Iowa to Miss Clara Ella Hanawalt, who preceded him in death.

During the years from 1904 to 1940 he was associated with the Ames Fair Store. Prior to that time he was a farmer near Deep River, Iowa.

He is survived by one son, Vern E. Wasser, of Los Angeles, Calif. Three daughters, Mrs. Myrna Jester of Biglerville, Penn., Mrs. Ruby Soper of Nevada with whom he had bee living for several years, and Mrs. Mary Sherk of Lake Park, Iowa.

He also leaves ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Also two brothers, the Rev. Wm. Wasser of Denver, Colo., and G. W. Wasser of Storm Lake, Iowa. One sister, Mrs. Margaret Wood of Evanston, Ill.

During these last few years Mr. Wasser had made braided rugs as a hobby and on these rugs he did beautiful work. Although well advanced in years he was no need of his being idle.

Until the last his mind was alert and clear.

He was quite a reader and among his reading material could always be found a religious paper. He was a member of the Ames Methodist church.

Long life to him was given. To his loved ones, who will mourn his passing, has been given the memory of a long and honorable life, the last several years of which were in Nevada at his daughter's home.

Out of Town

Relatives from a distance in attendance at the last rites were Dr. William Wasser of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Margaret Wood of Evanston, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. George Wasser of Storm Lake, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Jester of Biglerville, Pa., and Mrs. Cecil Sherk of Lake Park, Ia.
