Hold Final Rites For Andrew Kriner

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Andrew F. Kriner at the Evangelical U. B. church in Colo, the Rec. E. J. Berreth, pastor of the church, being in chage of the services.

Music was provided by a quartet, Mark Wilson, Charles Lehman, Mrs. Walter Bamford and Mrs. Charles Yeager, who used as their numbers, "Abide With Me" and "Rock of Ages". A solo, "Beyond the Sunset:, was sung by Mr. Wilson preceding the sermon. Mrs. Ralph Schnur presided at the piano.

Casket bearers were J. N. Turner, Nelson Perry, Kenneth Squires, Ross White, Charles Reed and Charles Yeager.

The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Nelson Perry and Mrs. Art Perry.

Obituary

The following obituary was read by Rev. Berreth during the service: Andrew F. Kriner, son of Daniel and Catherine Kriner, was born in Warrenville, Ill., June 10, 1863, and passed away at the Los Angeles hospital in Los Angeles, Calif., April 21, 1949, at the age of 85 years, seven months and 41 days.

He was the second son in the family of seven children. Three have preceded him in death.

At the age of 12 years his parents moved from Illinois to Iowa and settled on a farm, one-half mile north of Colo. He grew to manhood in the Colo community.

He married Martha A. Carter and engaged in the undertaking and furniture business in Colo for several years. He later worked at the carpenter trade until three years ago and when he suffered a stroke, from which he never fully recovered.

The wife and mother passed away on Feb. 19, 1915, leaving two sons, Herbert and Laurence Herbert passed away on Oct. 20, 1918, and Laurence lives in Los Angeles, California, where Mr. Kriner lived since his health failed.

Survivors

Surviving are the son, Laurence; one sister, Anna Wyatt; two brothers, Emmanuel of Nevada and Levi of Des Moines; nieces, Mary Rasmusson, Kathryn McBride, Vera Wilson, Bernice Morell and Neva Kriner Irons, and nephews, William Wyatt, Kenneth Kriner, Merwin Kriner, and other relatives and a host of friends.

Andrew Kriner loved traveling and spent 17 winters in California previous to the time of going there to reside. He was a very faithful member of the Evangelical church of Colo, ever willing to five his assistance both in money and work.

Burial was in the Colo cemetery.
