Obituary of Kenneth McBride; Born in Nevada
Frank Kenneth McBride of 716 Monongalia Ave., was born April 10, 1902, at Nevada, Iowa. He received his education there, was graduated from the Nevada High School, and also the Iowa State college, later employed as fireman on the Great Northern. He was a resident of Nevada and Ames, Ia., until 1931 and since had made Willmar his home. Prior to being a fireman, he was a cafe proprietor. He served as a member of the Sharon Lodge, No. 104, Mt. Nebo Chapter No. 63, Shrine, Elks, Eagles and B. of L. F. & E.
On Nov. 22, 1935, he was united in marriage to Alice Lindquist at Omaha, Nebraska. One son was born to this union, Dean Kenneth McBride, of Willmar.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and son, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. K. McBride of Ames, Ia., and sisters, Mrs. Ray C. Howell and Mrs. Harold Anderson of Ames, Ia., Mrs. A. H. Johnson of Topeka, Kansas, and a brother, Harry L. McBride of Webster, S. D. Nine nieces and nephews also survive.
Services were held at 2 o'clock on November 2nd from the Peterson Funeral Chapel and the Mission Covenant church, Rev. Nathan Sundberg officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Robert Franklin, who sang "In the Garden" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". Mrs. Franklin and Mrs. Ray Easterlund sang as a duet, "The Old Rugged Cross".
Interment was at Fairview where he was laid to rest by Marvin Miller, Ray Severinson, Harvey Mattson, Herbert Johnson, Owen Howell, J. H. Wilger, all of Willmar.
Relatives and friend from a distance included Mr. and Mrs. A. K. McBride of Ames, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. McBride of Webster, S. D., Mr. and Mrs. Ray C. Howell and Mrs. Harold Anderson of Ames, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Arthur H. Johnson of Topeka, Kansas; Max Olive, Shenandoah, Iowa; Bob Olive of Virginia; Richard Anderson, Marilyn Anderson and Donald Anderson, Ames, Ia., Mrs. Laura Pincombe, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Huhn, Harry Lough, Bert Lough, Leslie McBride, Harold McBride, Russell McBride, Mrs. Wilbur Webb, all of Nevada; Mrs. Merle Mathison of Colo, Glen McBride, Ray McBride and Mrs. Blayney Johnston, of Zearing, Mrs. Lucy Irvine, of Blue Earth, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. John Tastad and daughter Cheryl of Andover, S. D., and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lindquist of Pennock.
