THE NEVADA EVENING JOURNAL, Tuesday, May 8, 1951. "HARVEY W. BORTS, 61 DIES THIS AFTERNOON. Harvey W. Borts, 61, Nevada resident for the past several years, passed away at 12:45 this afternoon at his home on West Lincolnway, following an illness of about 10 days. Funeral arrangements are pending. Surviving are his wife, one daughter and three sons. Mr. Borts was a prominent farmer in the Milford neighborhood for several years."

THE NEVADA EVENING JOURNAL, Tuesday May 8, 1951, page 1. "SERVICES FRIDAY FOR HARVEY W. BORTS, 61. Funeral services for Harvey W. Borts, 61, who died at 12:35 Tuesday p. m. will be held from the Ryan Funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. C. E. Lookingbill officiating. Burial will be in the Green Castle cemetery near Mingo. The body will lie in state at the Ryan Funeral home until the time of service. The deceased, resident of Nevada for 22 years, is survived by his wife, Lenora, by three sons, Duane and Darwin of Ames and Donald Borts of Boone and one daughter, Mrs. Reuben Peterson of Madrid. He also lives six brothers, John at Rhodes, Archie, Collins, Len of Colfax, Russell of Colfax, Ward of Milwaukee, Wis., and David of Newton, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred McKeever and Mrs. Charles Zillion of Newton. He is also survived by six grandchildren."
