Last Rites Held For Mrs. Bertha Tesdahl

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Bertha Tesdahl Saturday afternoon, at one o'clock from the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Nelson, Sr., and from the Bethlehem Lutheran church at Slater at 1:30. Burial was in the cemetery at Radcliffe.

The Rev. C. E. Onstad had charge of the services and based his message on the 23rd Psalm. He also sang a solo, "Den Store Hvide Flok". Nilus Ihle also sang two songs, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Saved By Grace."

Pallbearers were Lewis Roe and Archie Roe of LeRoy, Minn. Orrie Roe of Sioux City, and Elmer, Art and Carl Torgerson.

Obituary

Bertha Roe Tesdahl was born at Stonevick, Norway, on Jan. 12, 1870, daughter of Ole and Katrine Roen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Norway and came to America at age 18.

In 1892 she was united in marriage to Knut O. Roe and they made their home in Marshalltown. To this union five children were born. Her husband died in 1903 and one daughter, Mabel, in 1940.

Her marriage to Halver Tesdahl was solemnized June 1, 1905. They made their home north of Slater, moving later to a place southwest of Sheldahl. After a short residence there, they bought a home in Slater where she has since lived.

Mr. Tesdahl died in May, 1935, in Slater.

Active Church Member

Mrs. Tesdahl was a loyal and active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran church until her health failed. At the time of her death she had reached the age of 80 years, seven months and 11 days.

She is survived by her four children, Oscar, Clarence and Sam of Gary, Ind. an Mrs. Lester Nelson, Sr., of Slater, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
