THE AMES DAILY TRIBUNE, Ames, Iowa, Aug 28, 1973. "Entered into eternal rest Sunday, Aug. 26, 1973. Melvin Carl Bell, 58, Maxwell, died Sunday at Mary Greeley Hospital. Services are Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell. The Rev. Harland Sauser will officiate and burial is in the Peoria Cemetery, Maxwell. Mr. Bell was a salesman for Ostrich Motors, Nevada. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons, Garold, Des Moines, Wayne, Dallas, Tex., and Dennis, serving in the Air Force in Germany; two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Woods and Mrs. Caroline Phillips, both of Huntington Beach, Calif., his mother, Mrs. Ethel Harmon, Ames; two brothers, Howard, Des Moines, and Ralph, Santa Anna, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Richard Dawson, Ames. Friends and relatives may call at the Cooper Funeral Home Tuesday until time of the services. CARD OF THANKS: We would like to extend our appreciation to our relatives and friends for the help and sympathy at the loss of our father and husband, Melvin Carl Bell. Also to the Pastors Sauser and Brown for their comforting words and to his attending physician. Your kindness will always be in our heart and our memory. Mrs. Helen Bell and family.
