Hold Final Services For S. B. Lee, 72

Funeral services for S. B. Lee were held Thursday afternoon at 5 o'clock from the Larson-Peterson Funeral home in Story City with the Rev. W. D. Winter, pastor of Grace E. U. B. church, officiating.

Mrs. Robert Kenney sand several selections with Mrs. Alfred Jacobson accompanying.

Serving as casket bearers were Arvin and Andy Nelson, Donald and Leonard Lee, Millard Lee and Homer Lee. Interment was in the Gilbert cemetery.

Obituary

Severin Bertinius Lee, son of Torjils and Malene Lee, was born Dec. 30, 1877, in Sjold, Norway. He was eldest of a family of seven children. Immigrating to this country at the age of 17 years, he made his home with his uncle, Severt Tesdall, at Slater, Iowa. Attending business college in Des Moines, he later served as cashier at the bank at Huxley and then took up the same work at Gilbert.

On April 1, 1911, he was united in marriage with Sena Nielsen of Story City. To this union four children were born. Twin boys died in infancy. On April 28, 1922, his wife was taken by death, thus leaving another vacancy in the family circle.

Traveled

For a period of about a year Mr. Lee traveled for a bank supply firm, after which he became connected with the Penn-Dixie Portland Cement company with headquarters in Sioux City, Iowa. He spent 25 years with this firm. In 1946 he retired to a farm at Smithland, Iowa. he had been a member of the Congregational church at Gilbert.

A number of weeks ago he was removed to the Old People's home in Story City, where he soon became bedfast. Last Monday morning about 2:30, death claimed him. He had reached the age of 72 years, six months and three days.

Surviving are two children, Mrs. Margaret Jensen of Dundee, Ill. and Robert Lee of Aberdeen, M-; two brothers, T.T. Lee of Huxley an George Lee of Smithland, and three grandchildren, Robert Norman, Elizabeth Ann and Patrick Severin Lee.
