Knut Knutson

Knut Knutson was born at Sevde, Norway, June 24, 1852, and passed away Wednesday morning Jan. 10th, 1923. He came to this country of ours in the year 1871, locating at Nevada, Iowa, where he devoted his time in learning the methods of Iowa farming. He was married to Miss Carrie Williams of Randall on March 8th, 1879, the marriage ceremony taking place in Nevada, Iowa. Two years later they moved to the old farm, four miles south of Jewell.

This couple were blessed with eleven children, thee of whom died in infancy and Charles, who died while serving his country, October 2, 1917. They who are left to mourn his death are his wife and children, namely, Martin C. Knutson, Mrs. T. Thompson, Ada Knutson of Jewell; Peter and Henry Knutson of Centerville, S. D.; Clarence Knutson of Windom, Minn.; and Mrs. L. E. Riley of Webster City, and 17 grandchildren.

Mr. Knutson was a king a loving husband and father, loyal to his country and loyal to his God.
