Services Wednesday For Bert D. Link
Funeral services for Bert D. Link, who passed away suddenly last Wednesday morning at his home at Iowa Center, were held Friday afternoon, March 3, from the Maxwell Presbyterian church with the Rev. LaPortie R. Bucklew in charge.
Mrs. Alice Gooden sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Some Day He'll Make It Plain", accompanied by Mrs. Vesta Thalacker at the piano.
The beautiful floral offerings were taken care of by Mrs. Hazel Vallandingham and Mrs. Vera Viers.
Pall bearers were Darrell Link, Dale Link, Harold Link, Marrold Witmer, Virgil Miller and George Cairns. Interment was in the Brethren cemetery, south of Maxwell.
Obituary
Bert Dwight Link, the youngest son of the late George and Christena Link, was born near Maxwell, August 11, 1891, and departed this life March 1, 1950 at the age of 58 years, six months and 20 days.
He spent his early life in the Loring vicinity. He was united in marriage to Mae Beal on July 16, 1913. One son, Billie, blessed this union. He united with the Church of the Brethren at Maxwell and kept his faith until his passing.
He was active in community service, a very good neighbor, always helping those in need and a very kind and loving father and husband.
Survivors
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mae, his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Billie Link, and two grandchildren, Judy and Jimmy, four brothers, Martin and Leonard of Maxwell, Charles of Ames and George of Cambridge, three sisters, Katherine Miller of Grimes, Anna Cairns and Viola Witmer of Maxwell, and a host of relatives and friends.
His father, mother, two brothers, William and John, and three sisters, Christena Morrison, Clara Hawkins and Rosie preceded him in death. Rosie died at the age of two years.
