Hold Final Services For Harve E. Kitchen

Funeral services for Harve E. Kitchen, native of Story county and long-time Nevada resident were held from the Ryan Funeral home Sunday afternoon with C. E. Lookingbill in charge.

There were an unusually large number of friends in attendance, showing their respect to the deceased.

The casket bearers were Homer Dawson, Lee Corbin, Maurice Alderman, Earl Webb, Clifford Myers and Eugene Mackey.

Burial was in the Iowa Center cemetery.

Obituary

Harve E. Kitchen, son of Alfred and Sally Kitchen, was born Sept. 29, 1899, in Indian Creek township where he made his home with his parents until he grew to manhood.

He was united in marriage to Maude Burgess of Maxwell and to this union were born one son, Harry, and three daughters, Leona, Ellen and Marjorie.

He and his family have been long-time residents of Nevada and he was employed by Story county as a road worker for many years, always, doing his work well.

After an illness of two years, he had been seriously ill since Dec. 1, and returned home recently from Still hospital in Des Moines, where he had been patient the week prior to his death.

He departed this life at his home, 1702 Eighth street, at 7:30 Thursday evening, Feb. 23.

Survivors

Surviving are his wife, Maude, one son, Harry; three daughters, Leona, Ellen and Mrs. Jim (Marjory) Henry, and one grandson, all of Nevada, also three brothers, Clarence, William and Clifford, all of Nevada; two sisters, Mrs. C. E. Smith of Nevada and Mrs. Raymond Crooks of Ames, and many other relatives and friends.

His parents preceded him in death a number of years ago.
