Final Services For Isaak Henry Hellyer

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Jan. 14, from the Colo Evangelical U. B. church for Isaack Henry Hellyer with the Rev. Otto Hoffner, pastor, in charge.

The many beautiful floral tributes were cared for and arranged by Mrs. Anna Lounsberry and Mrs. Laura Wallace.

The music was furnished by a male quartet, John Lounsberry, Charles Lehman, William Lounsberry and Mark Wilson. Mrs. Ralph Schnur, pianist, accompanied the quartet and played several appropriate numbers preceding and following the rites.

The casket bearers were John Orr, John Donnelly, Murray Wallace, Clifford Handsaker, Vernon Handsaker and Merlin Handsaker.

Interment was in the Colo cemetery.

Mr. Hellyer had seemingly been in very good health, but on Tuesday morning, Jan. 10, had gone to the Colo hardware store on a business errand when he suddenly collapsed and passed away immediately. He had been recently employed by the Commodity Credit corporation in the assembling and painting of government bins. The group of men attended the services in a body.

Obituary

The following obituary was read by Rev. Hoffner during the services, which were largely attended by friends and neighbors of the deceased:

'Isaak Henry Hellyer was born at Oleny, Mo. on March 8, 1880. there he grew to manhood and on May 1, 1910 , he was married to Mattie Bently.

"To this union were born six children, one daughter preceding him in death.

"The departed lived in the Colo neighborhood for about 30 years and the last 10 years in Colo. Mr. Hellyer was an industrious and honest man. He was a good father and provided for his family."

He passed away suddenly on Jan. 10, 1950 at the age of 69 years, 10 months and five days.

Survivors

Surviving are Mrs. Hellyer; four daughters, Mrs. Lowell Oakes of Union, Mrs. Homer Deal and Mrs. Ray Deal, both of Marshall, Mo., and Mrs. Robert Otto of Clemons; one son, Donald of Bellflower, Cal., 12 grandchildren; two brothers Missouri, and other relatives and friends.

At the noon hour a dinner was served the Hellyer family at the Evangelical church parlors by the members of the E. U. B. Ladies Aid.

Those attending the services from a distance came from Marshalltown, Union, Zearing, Grand Junction, Clinton, Nevada, Bangor, Fernald, Waterloo and State Center.
