McCallsburg, Sept. 9--The sudden death of O. K. Helvig, retired mail carrier at Story City, late Friday, was the occasion of much surprise here.

Mr. and Mrs. Helvig and son, Palmer, the latter of San Diego, Calif., had been in McCallsburg, Friday, guests at the home of the former's nephew, Tollif Thompson and family.

Mr. Helvig was not feeling well and complained of heart trouble. Starting home, they had car trouble in the east edge of McCallsburg and stopped at the Henry Mehlow home. Realizing the Mr. Helvig was becoming in a dangerous condition, Mr. Mehlow took he and Mrs. Helvig on home, while the son waited here for the repairs for the car.

Upon the arrival home of Mr. Mehlow, word had preceded him that Mr. Helvig had died very shortly after arriving in his home and before the arrival of the son.

The funeral services were held at Story City this afternoon.
