Mrs. Marie Mulcahy Rites Held at Colo

Collins -- Mrs. Marie Mulcahy, daughter of David and Malissa Penquite-Southern, was born on her parents farm five miles south of Collins, July 14, 1890 where she spent her girlhood receiving her education in school nearby. She died Feb. 24th, 1957 at the Story County Hospital in Nevada where she had been taken the preceding day.

On April 8, 1920 she was married to Frank Mulcahy of Colo at Vinton and they lived their married life around Colo. Mr. Mulcahy died in 1945. Later she came to Collins and resided there until her death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Mulcahy were conducted by Father Brickley in St. Mary's church in Colo Thursday morning at 9:30. Burial was in St. James' cemetery there.

Casket bearers were Floyd Atwood, Lowell Atwood, Horace Ozmun, Dewey Kern, Patrick Stark and John Stark.

Survivors are one brother Harvey Southern; four sisters, Mrs. Eva Tilton, Mrs. Jessie Atwood, Mrs. Bertha Ozmun and Mrs. Lena Renveldt. One brother, John Southern has preceded her in death.
