OBITUARY
Jacob O. Jacobson was born July 24th, 1848, in Os, Bergen, Norway, and died April 24, 1922, having attained the age of 73 years and 9 months. He had a slight stroke a year and a half ago and has been failing since, until the last week peritonitis set in.
He came to America in 1869, living with his brother Hans Jacobson in Clinton county until the following year, when he moved to Story county, where he lived continuously until he moved to Story City three years ago.
In 1875 he was married to Ingri Olson. To this union were born eleven children, four having preceded him in death, three died in infancy and one son, Joe E., having grown to manhood, died October 26, 1917.
The deceased leaves to mourn his death his wife and seven children, Mrs. Anna Soma of Canby, Minn., Mrs. Tillie Orning of Gilbert, Mrs. Lena Benson, Mrs. Martha Larson, Mrs. Emelia Wier, Mrs. Cornelia Rod and Agnes, all of Story City.
Mr. Jacobson is the last in the family of seven brothers and one sister who have all preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the home and South St. Petri church on Wednesday, May 26.
