ROLAND PIONEER CALLED BY DEATH

MRS. JOHN TWEDT WILL BE BURIED TUESDAY AFTER FUNERAL SERVICES.

Roland, Aug. 3--Mrs. John Twedt, 76, one of the pioneer women of this community died at her home here Saturday evening, after an illness which had covered a period of some duration. Funeral services will be held from Bergen's church Tuesday afternoon at half after two o'clock after which interment will be in the Roland cemetery.

The Twedts had lived on a farm south of Roland in Milford township for many years and were among the most prominent and popular people of the neighborhood. Later they retired from the farm and established their home in this city.

She leaves besides her aged husband, three sons and five daughters. The sons are Joseph and Jacob of near Roland and Albert of Minnesota, while the daughters are Mrs. T. S. Sampson, Mrs. P. J. Peterson, Mrs. E. R. Grove, Mrs. Elmer Highland and Mrs. Joe Rutherford, all of in or near Roland.
