Lady Killed Near Ames

Mrs. Reinard Ryerson of near Huxley was instantly killed just after noon Sunday, when the family cra plunged off a forty foot embankment from an icy roadbed, on the Jefferson highway 5 1/2 miles south of Ames.

Her neck was broken as she was pinned beneath the back of the front seat. She and Mr. Ryerson were alone in the car at the time and no one witnessed the fatality. People on the road assisted in removing her from beneath the car, as they were attracted by Mr. Ryerson's cries for help.

Transcriber note; She was buried in Cambridge cemetery Union Township, Story County, Iowa. Her marker reads: Bertha wife of R RYERSON 1868-1922.
