DEATHS

MRS. JAMES T. QUAM

Funeral services for Mrs. James T. Quam were held Wednesday afternoon, April 18, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City. Pastor C. A. Gisselquist officiated. A congregational hymn was sung, "Pass Me Not, O Gentle Saviour."

Theodore Quam sang "If I Have Wounded An Soul Today" and "Mother's Prayers Have Followed Me" accompanied by Miss Louise Olson at the organ.

Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery. Pall bearers were Steven Quam, James Hauge, Dan Burkhart, Ronald Jacobson, Mark Hauge and William Hetland.

Sella Teigland Quam, daughter of Martin M. and Anna Teigland was born west of Randall, September 10, 1893. She was baptized and confirmed in the Elim Lutheran Church at Randall by Pastor G. O. Paulsrud. She passed away at the Story City Memorial Hospital on Palm Sunday morning, April 15.

On February 18, 1914 she was united in marriage to James Quam. To this union five children were born one daughter, Mrs. Gaylord (Lyla) Hauge of Rural Jewell, four sons Delbert Quam of rural route Story City, Arden Quam, rural Jewell, Luther Quam, rural Stanhope and Rev. Ernest Quam of Story City, now confined to Riverside Nursing Home at Ames.

The first fifteen years of her married life, she and her husband resided on a farm at Elmore, Minnesota. In 1930 they moved to a farm northwest of Randall, Iowa. In 1957 they retired to their present home in Story City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers Carl, Martin, Lucas, George and Soren Teigland, five sisters Sophia, Marie, Hannah, Severina and Ruth.

She is survived by her husband James; five children; twelve grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
