Robert Eugene Fosse
Nov. 30, 1940, to June 27, 2004Robert Eugene Fosse, 63, of Roland, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. Memorial services were held Wednesday June 30, 2004 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Roland with Pastor Steve Schwartz officiating. A military burial followed in the Roland Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, June 29 at Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City.
Bob Fosse was born Nov. 30, 1940 in Garden City, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Clarice (Peterson) Fosse. He graduated from Roland High School in 1958 and attended Des Moines Area Community College in Law Enforcement. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966.
Bob married Mary Beck at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on May 12, 1968. Two children were born to this union, Todd and Mary Jo. Bob lived in Roland most of his life and was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 307. He served as deputy sheriff for the Story County Sheriff's Office from 1977 until 1999 and retired as detective sergeant.
Bob's interest included spending time with family and friends and collecting antique toys.
He is survived by his son Todd of Roland, his daughter Mary Jo (Chuck) Thorn of Ames, one sister Marlene (Ron) Piel of Creston; and a twin brother Ron (Betty) Fosse of Ames.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Hollis Fosse.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Salem Lutheran Church in Roland.
