BABE IS DROWNED IN WATER TANK

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Brendeland Lose Child in Tragic Manner

The fourteen months old baby boy of Mrs. and Mrs. Ben Brendeland met with a sad accident yesterday morning, by falling into a water tank near the house and drowning before help could reach him.

Mrs. Brendeland missed the child and fearing an accident began a search of the premises. She could not find the boy, and called to her husband from the field to help her in the search. The water tank has been an object of interest to the little one a number of times, and the father immediately began to fathom the water with the result that he found the lifeless little body lodged face downward under the boards covering one end of the tank. Life had been extinct for some time.

The Brendelands live on the farm four miles north and a mile west of Roland.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, and we understand that the remains will be taken to Kelley for burial, the former home of the Brendeland family.
