From Story City News, Story City, Story County, Iowa, Friday, October 14th, 1887.

DIED. - At the residence of Christ Sorenson, on Saturday evening, Oct. 8th, John Charlson, at the age of 78 years. Mr. Charlson moved to Story county from Illinois 29 years ago and has lived in Howard township until about 8 years ago when he went to live with his son-in-law about a mile an a half south of town. He celebrated his golden wedding only a few weeks ago and seemed then likely to live some years yet. Mr. C. has been an invalid for some time but his last illness was only four days in length. His funeral was held at the Evangelical church last Monday afternoon.
