Doris "Evelyn" Roberts
April 12, 1932 - December 9, 2019

Doris Evelyn Roberts, 87 of Colo, passed away Monday, December 9, 2019, at Westhaven Community in Boone.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with a funeral service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 14 at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Burial will follow at the Colo Cemetery in Colo.

Evelyn was born April 12, 1932, in Eddyville, Iowa the daughter of Leon and Blanche (McFall) Allbaugh. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1950 and was united in marriage to Don Roberts on December 25, 1954 at the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa. Evelyn worked 22 years for Donnelly Marketing in Nevada, retiring in 1997. She enjoyed square dancing, reading, listening to country music and meticulously caring for her yard. Evelyn’s greatest joy was her family, especially watching her grandsons grow into fine young men and being able to know her first great-grandson.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Mark) DeShong of Ogden; her grandchildren: Andrew, Bradley and Nathan DeShong; her great-grandson, Braedon DeShong; her sisters: Lois Sutherland of Winterset, Betty (Alvin) McGee of O’Fallon, IL and Shirley Bruggemeyer of Altoona; her sister-in-law Carol Allbaugh of Winfield and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Clifford and Russell Allbaugh; her sisters, Ione Hulbert and Lucille Allgood; and brothers-in-law, Cecil Hulbert, Charles Allgood and Willis Sutherland.

Memorial contributions may be made to Westhaven Community in memory Evelyn.

Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
