Elvin Dale Sobotka
December 25, 1949 - December 13, 2019

Elvin Dale Sobotka, 69, of Jewell died December 13, 2019 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services will be Saturday December 21at 10:30 am at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City. Burial will be at the Gilbert Cemetery at a later date.

Dale was born on December 25, 1949 in Diagonal, Iowa to Melvin and Thelma (Stottlemeyer) Sobotka. He married Sherry Lande on December 28, 1969. He worked for Freel Sanitation for over 30years. Dale enjoyed collecting Matchbox cars, baseball caps and keychains. He and his son-in-law, Daniel were restoring at 1969 Chevy Nova.

Dale is survived by his three daughters, Kim (Mark) Mollhoff of Kansas City, MO, Cindy (Daniel) Rolph of Jewell and Heidi (Donald) Schermerhorn of Story City; seven grandchildren, Brian, Danielle, Kevin, Daniel, Markie, Desstinnie and Aydan; six great grandchildren, Chase, Emah, Bryce, Kade, Anna and Elizabeth and two brothers, Jeff Sobotka of Ames and Terry Sobotka of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sherry and his sister, Linda Mead.
